Ants Desktop - Level Editor

The Ants level editor is now available!  The level editor is a separate Java application.  You'll use it to create the level, and use the Ants Desktop application to test/and play the level.

Download Latest Version (1.5, June 11th, 2020):

• Java version (Mac, Windows, Linux)
• Exe version (Windows)

Basic usage:

1. ​Run the Java level editor on your computer.
   
2. Run Ants on the same computer (using Steam).
   
3. In the Java level editor, click in the bottom area to change your tool, then click in the grid to place objects.
4. Change the spawner pattern, arrow limits, and anthill limits via the Options menu.
5. In Ants, select "Create Level", then "Test Level" to try out your level.
6. Once you are satisified with the level, in the Java level editor, select "File/Save As..." to save it to a text file.
7. If you create a level you'd like to share and possibly have it included as a bonus level, send it to us!

Troubleshooting:

• To run the level editor, you will need to have Java installed on your computer.  If you don't have it installed, you can install it from here:  www.java.com/en/download/
